Senior Geospatial Software Engineer (TS/SCI with Polygraph required)

A day in the life:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Geospatial Software Engineer to join our team in developing cutting-edge geospatial analysis, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and visualization microservices to support mission-focused systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and performant Java-based microservices that interact with both relational and NoSQL databases. Your work will contribute to enhancing the capabilities of our geospatial data processing and visualization tools, enabling better decision-making for mission- critical applications.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Java microservices with a strong
emphasis on geospatial functionality. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them
into robust and scalable software solutions. - Leading the technical design and implementation of geospatial features, ensuring alignment
with overall architecture and mission objectives. - Working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and
provide technical expertise during the planning and execution of projects. - Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members to ensure high-quality code and
adherence to best practices.
Key technologies: Java/Spring, Linux/Windows, ElasticSearch, MySQL/PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
What you bring to the table:
- 14+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- In-depth knowledge of Java and associated frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-based development and deployment
- Solid understanding of database design and optimization for geospatial data.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Leadership experience in guiding and mentoring development teams.
- A TS/SCI with Polygraph level of clearance is required
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System) principles and applications.
The total package:
- Disclosed pay ranges are a general guideline, and are not a guarantee of a final salary or compensation. Our approach in determining final salaries takes into consideration a number of factors such as education, certifications, total years of relevant professional experience, actual level of expertise, and the responsibilities of the role itself.
- Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is $165,000 - $235,000.
