Sr. Manager, Asset Management Department
Description
The department’s responsibilities are listed below:
1. Management of private funds (PV).
2. Management of lessee SPC: Lessee SPC leases land and PV facilities (30 power plants)
from Canadian Solar Infrastructure Fund (CSIF) and operates as the power generation
utility.

3. Management of land holding SPCs.
4. Management of the operational PV projects developed by CSP, prior to the sale to
private funds or CSIF.
5. Management of low-voltage PV aggregation portfolio.
6. Management of energy storage systems (ESS, from 2024).
Together with Canadian Solar Asset Management KK (CSAM, the asset manager of CSIF),
strengthen asset management capability within Canadian Solar’s Japan operation.
There will be 1-2 subordinate(s) reporting directly.
Responsibilities:
1. Private funds
i. CSP currently acts as the asset manager of 4 projects, total 111MW.
ii. To make decisions for each SPCs (of private fund assets) regarding its business
operations.
iii. Responsible for the communications with lenders and investors. Submit business plans
and manage day-to-day interactions with the parties (e.g. monitor various loan
covenants).
iv. In charge of the relationship with insurance companies, O&M contractors, credit agencies,
governmental/non-governmental agencies (METI, OCCTO, JPEA etc.).
2. Lessee SPC
i. Upon the instructions from CSAM, go through internal procedures to execute various
contracts required between CSIF and lessee SPC.
ii. For the 30 projects owned by CSIF, as a power generation utility, lessee SPC shall file
proper reports to various agencies, such as METI, JPEA or OCCTO.
3. Land holding SPCs
i. Create and regularly update the land list of the land owned or leased by the land holding
SPCs.
ii. Actively propose to Origination and ESS team if any land owned by the SPCs could be
utilized to develop new projects.
4. Operational projects
i. Act as a key point of contact as project seller. Deal with buyers’ DD about the project
(land, permit and technical). Identify all issues that hinder the sale and find ways to fix
prior to sale contract execution.
ii. Act in good faiths to manage the projects in operation. Responsible for the contract
negotiation with Canadian Solar O&M Japan KK. If any issues come up, solve the issues
together with various stakeholders, both internal (EPC PM, PF etc.) and external
(insurance companies, EPC contractors etc.).
iii. Actively propose ideas to maximize the valuation of projects, such as reducing OPEX,
improving system yields, repowering etc.
5. Low-voltage PV aggregation portfolio
i. Propose and implement the most efficient structure to manage large number (up to
several thousands) of distributed systems. Engage with appropriate third-party partners to
fulfill requirements.
ii. Act in good faiths to manage the projects, once the projects are handed over from
development partners. If any issues come up, solve the issues together with various
stakeholders, both internal (EPC PM, PF etc.) and external (insurance companies, EPC
contractors etc.).
iii. Actively propose ideas to maximize the valuation of the portfolio, such as reducing OPEX,
improving system yields etc.
6. ESS Projects
i. Establish an asset management structure prior to the start of operation of the first ESS
project in the second half of 2024.
Job Requirements:
More than 5 years of work experience in asset management in renewable energy industry
(experience in PV a plus).
Team management experience (team size greater than five).
Language: Japanese Native, Ability to read and write in English
