Position Title:  Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting  

Department:Corporate Finance  

Reports To:Financial Controller  

Location:Austin, TX  

   

Position Summary  

The selected candidate will be a member of Recurrent Energy’s US Corporate Finance team reporting to the Financial Controller.  This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounting of US holding entities and partnerships, US financial statements and consolidated reports, coordinating requests from external auditors and supporting the Controller and the rest of the team with ad-hoc requests and projects in liaison with the Consolidation and Technical Accounting teams. This position will oversee one direct report.  

   

   

Responsibilities  

  • Reports to Financial Controller.
  • Proactively works with various teams in the organization including Project Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Technical Accounting, Consolidation, Tax, HR, Legal.
  • Involved in multiple aspects of corporate accounting and reporting.
  • Significant exposure to external auditors.
  • Manage, support, and develop one direct report (Senior Accountant).
  • Oversee the accounting of US holding entities. Manage month-end close, review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and upload into the consolidation system.
  • Oversee the accounting activities related to projects in which the company retains partial ownership.
  • Prepare quarterly project and corporate level financial statements, supporting schedules and notes. Prepare ad-hoc financial statements when necessary.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the preparation of accounting memos and reviewing agreements to identify accounting requirements.
  • Focal point for external auditors. Coordinate, track, and assist the team with audit requests, follow up and remediation.
  • Review the month-end reporting package for accuracy and consistency before submission.
  • Respond to queries and requests from Project Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR, Technical Accounting and Consolidation.
  • Support system enhancement, process improvement and documentation projects.

   

Requirements   

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience a plus.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Experience in construction or solar project development industries preferred.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Asset Impairment (ASC 360), Lease Accounting (ASC 842) and Capitalizations.
  • Proficient in preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, equity statement, footnotes, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of large ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Travel required 0 – 15%.
