Reporting Relationships & Interactions

  • Report to the Senior Managing Director of Finance.
  • Work closely with senior management across Development, EPC, Origination & Structuring, Legal, and Finance.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Project Finance and M&A team members.
  • Interact directly with financial institutions and advisors.

Principal Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

  • Organize and lead a fundraising campaign utilizing banking relationships to raise $2–3B of tax equity and debt over the next three years.
  • Manage and grow relationships with new and existing financial institution partners. Collaborate with the CFO and Senior Managing Director of Finance to structure and close corporate facilities supporting global financing needs.
  • Provide oversight and assume overall responsibility for all Project Finance and M&A transactions in North America, including:
  • Evaluate tax equity and project financing structures to achieve economic and timing goals.
  • Lead relationships with investors and advisors for structuring, negotiating, and closing project sale transactions.
  • Guide financial advisors through structuring, negotiating, and closing structured project finance transactions.
  • Train and develop the Project Finance and M&A team.
  • Oversee the divestiture of NTP and Pre-NTP renewable projects.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analytics team to refine development models for anticipated financial structures and tax jurisdictions.
  • Provide the Business Development team with early-stage evaluations of financing structures and participate in transaction Risk Review.
  • Collaborate with the Origination & Structuring team on energy off-take strategies, return metrics, and credit reviews.
  • Collaborate with Legal on structuring Project Finance and M&A transactions.
  • Evaluate transactions for Investment Committee review.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance to evaluate accounting, tax, and cash attributes of proposed transactions.
  • Represent Project Finance and M&A on internal and external cross-functional teams.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 18+ years of energy-related transactional finance experience with a strong focus on project finance, structured finance, and tax equity.
  • Established relationships within the energy and infrastructure financing sector.
  • Experience working in a project development environment.
