Summary   

Recurrent Energy is seeking a GIS Analyst to support the North American Land Acquisition GIS team with its GIS efforts in the development of utility-scale solar (“PV”) and battery energy storage system (“BESS”) projects.  This Analyst position is an opportunity to join an industry-leading team to help drive managements decision making and grow the business.  You will have the chance to work on real-world projects that will have a significant impact to our electrical grid and the energy transition to renewables.   

    

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in GIS. You will work to grow the organizations GIS offerings and find ways to enhance existing ones. You will work on projects currently under development, being constructed, preparing for financial close, and actively being marketed into wholesale power markets in the US.  These projects will be located across the United States and Canada.   

   

    

Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Areas   

As a GIS Analyst on the Land Acquisition GIS Team, you will help support Recurrent Energy’s GIS needs through:   

  • Assisting in GIS data management and maintenance tasks.
  • Contributing to development and maintenance of Land, and project holding GIS Data and its integration with Quorum On Demand Land system.
  • Collaborating and supporting Development Engineering with constraint and buildable area mapping.
  • Assisting M&A efforts through map exhibits and evaluation of projects.
  • Ad-Hoc exhibit and presentation style map requests for users across the organization.

    

In addition, responsibilities include:   

  • Reporting to and supporting the GIS Manager in efforts to deploy new web-based GIS offerings.
  • Assisting in spatial analysis efforts for project siting.
  • Curating GIS datasets in GIS Portal as well as other defined data repositories.
  • Technical troubleshooting for users of the Recurrent Energy GIS Portal website.

   

    

Reporting Relationships & Interactions   

    

  • Reports to GIS Manager
  • Assists the Land Acquisition, Real Estate, Engineering and Development Teams with GIS data and mapping requests.
  • Interacts with various internal groups and external parties.

    

Requirements   

    

Knowledge & Skills   

  • Demonstrated experience in GIS, energy, renewable energy, project development, engineering, or real estate.
  • Well versed in ESRI Suite of software. (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Data Interoperability/FME).
  • Familiarity with various GIS data formats (FGDB, SHP, KMZ, DWG, etc)
  • Knowledge of ESRI’s COTS and mobile solutions (Experience Builder, Web App Builder, Field Maps, Survey123, etc.)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, for process automation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Evidence of solid research and writing skills
  • General understanding of real estate concepts

Experience & Education   

  • Minimum Undergraduate degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • GIS, Renewable energy development, real estate, land, or consulting experience a plus
