Position Summary

The Intern, Public Affairs & Communication is responsible for providing support to the Director of Global Public Affairs, Communications & ESG and will provide support to other members of Development team as it related to policy at the local or state level. This is a PAID internship, and the position will provide support for the Policy Initiatives team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands on, real work experience at a renewable energy company.

Responsibilities

  • Research, monitor, and analyze federal, state and local policy legislation and issues that affect solar and energy storage siting, development and project execution.
  • Provide support in producing policy updates, legislative alerts, position statements and policy tracking mechanisms.
  • Support coordinating and developing monthly state policy report.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and assist with subject matter research as needed.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed.

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Schedule, Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of at least 2 years of coursework working toward a Bachelor’s degree or any amount of coursework experience working towards a Graduate or MBA degree.
  • Working toward a degree in Political Science, Public Affairs, Environmental Policy, Pre-law or related field preferable.
  • Interest in renewable and/or solar energy.
