Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the accounting team while supporting the Company’s financial initiatives, month end financial closings, financial reporting, reconciliations, identifying variances, and related root cause analysis. The Accounting Manager also supports consignment Inventory and is responsible reporting and activities.

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Demonstrate ability to work and think independently, interpret and exercise professional judgment and creatively problem solve and be a strong team leader.
  • Able to analyze trends, costs, revenues, variances to budget and prior year’s activity.
  • Able to take a large amount of data and produce meaningful analytics.
  • Prepares journal entries as assigned and reviews team entries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Able to analyze and prepare written commentary on variances to budget and prior year’s activity.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work and that of team to ensure quality.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and delivering on committed deadlines.
  • Leads the Accounting function and managing Staff Accountants.
  • Responsible for all monthly and quarter end closing activities.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial protocols and controls.
  • Develop and sustain departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manages relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Manages monthly reconciliation process and prepares reconciliations assigned balance sheet accounts, including year-end audit work-papers.
  • Maintains confidentiality; remain open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Seven (7) + years + experience, public accounting preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • The individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.
