Summary:  Warehouse Supervisor supervises daily planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center area reporting to the General Warehouse Manager.
 
Essential Functions:  To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following essential functions of this position:
 
  • Supervises one or more of the distribution center functions including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, returns and receiving.
  • Monitors the inventory levels to ensure accuracy and sufficient levels to fulfill all orders.
  • Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Coordinates daily workflow with other supervisors and managers.
  • Utilizes warehouse software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems.
  • Provides necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations.
  • Reviews production requirements and assigns employees to the correct work area.
  • Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Such as accidents and near miss reporting and investigations.
  • Ensures the work areas are appropriately maintained and corrects any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews, career counseling, development and disciplinary actions by policies.
  • Makes employee decisions including interview, selection and retention of employees.
  • Develops positive work environment by recognition and by resolving employee issues through problem solving.
  • Conducts employee team meetings.
  • Works in all areas of the operation.
  • Works flexible schedules as required which may include working off shifts and weekend.
  • Promotes accurate, timely communication up and down the organization to ensure priority issues are addressed.
  • Sets an example to co-workers.
 
Non-Essential Functions:
 
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Requires an associate degree or three (3) years warehouse leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing a warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment
