The Senior Operations Manager develops, implements, administers, coordinates, and plans all functions of the receiving, returns and production departments. Directs and leads the production supervisors to meet the facility’s production, quality and safety goals.
Salary Range: $115K - $125K
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Able to work flexible hours and travel overnight as needed)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Production Manager. Able to coach and mentor peers and subordinates to drive change.
- 5-7 years of previous experience in distribution, logistics, operations planning and/or facility supervision and management.
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Outstanding communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Computer knowledge at an expert level, including Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Able to work flexible hours and travel overnight as needed or assigned by the regional director.
- Knowledge of Blue Yonder WMS is preferred.
Essential Functions: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
- Planning, organizing and controlling of over-all operations.
- Plan out all warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives and sets targets.
- Implement cost reduction principle in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities.
- Promote constant motivation among staff to strive for efficient and effective warehouse administration.
- Always research to improve all warehouse operations according to company’s objectives.
- Communicating with other departments.
- Overseeing stock control and processing orders.
- Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Briefing management on a daily basis.
- Maintaining standards of safety and security in the work environment.
- Responsible for hiring, training, directing and supervising warehouse supervisors in the performance of their assigned duties and achievement of department production, quality and safety goals.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production schedules are maintained and the customer’s needs are met by the effective management of the material flow in the plant.
- Trains and directs employees in the performance of their assigned functions in order to achieve production goals.
- Will be responsible for creating and meeting annual variable cost budgets for the plant.
- Control and direct distribution operations through effective scheduling, budgeting, and human resource management programs.
- Establish and control distribution costs including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Develop, implement and administer programs for improving distribution operations.
- Identify areas for quality improvement and initiate problem-solving activities to improve quality performance.
- Manage support staff, as assigned:
- Trains AS400, JDA platforms and any applicable business functions needed to perform the job.
- Manage workload and priorities.
- Ensure accuracy of work and deadlines are met.
- Identify and work towards growth potential, as warranted.
