Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists is excited to have recently added urgent care to our community services, and as we expand this service, we are looking for a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician to add to the team.

The Urgent Care Technician supports the UC team by providing high level care for both pets and clients through our urgent care department while working collaboratively with the all members of the emergency and critical care team. This position is fast paced and every day is different. This position is perfect for someone who has a thirst for learning as well as the seasoned technician looking for something different. 
Urgent Care Veterinary Technician        
Burlington Emergency and Veterinary Specialists in Williston, VT     
$26.00 - $32.00 base rate depending on experience and licensure. Shift differentials apply on weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES 
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones  
  • Perform triage for patient and client needs
  • Conducts basic examinations to assess stability.
  • Perform nursing skills, including Phlebotomy, Cystocentesis, lab tests and various medication administration
  • Administer and monitor sedated patients for minor procedures 
  • Perform patient discharges and assist with admitting patients to the ICU.
  • Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients.
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy 
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

REQUIREMENTS         
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required 
  • Minimum two years of prior veterinary hospital experience required, prior emergency experience preferred
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
