Salary: $32.00-$34.00 per hour, based on experience + Bonus/Incentive Eligibility

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Class 1 Long Haul Driver to join our growing transportation team. In this role, you'll operate a tractor-trailer on long-haul routes between British Columbia and Ontario, transporting our live goods and supplies while maintaining full compliance with all transportation regulations. You'll handle driving and loading/unloading duties, maintain excellent communication with dispatch and customers, and take ownership of safe, on-time deliveries.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class 1 tractor-trailer on long-haul routes between British Columbia and Ontario
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
• Load, secure, and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and product care
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and DOT/Transport Canada regulations
• Maintain accurate trip records, logs, mileage, hours-of-service, and required documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, or delays promptly to management
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups
• Perform minor roadside repairs and troubleshooting when needed
• 5-6 days per week, 40+ hours per week (seasonal variation may apply)
• Long-distance travel with overnight stays as required
• Exposure to all weather conditions

What You Bring

• Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record (abstract less than 3 years old)
• 3-5 years of commercial long-haul driving experience
• Strong knowledge of highway driving, road safety, traffic laws, and Transport Canada regulations
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions and navigate both highways and secondary routes
• Physically capable of lifting, securing, and handling freight (regular lifting up to 50 lbs)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and minor roadside repairs
• Comfort working independently and managing your time effectively

Nice to Have

• Experience transporting plants or perishable goods
• Experience in greenhouse, nursery, or agricultural logistics
• Familiarity with long-haul or cross-border route optimization software
