About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Outdoor Seasonal Garden Center Merchandiser to support Rainbow Greenhouses’ plant program within Home Depot garden centers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physically demanding active work. Working outdoors, and taking pride in creating clean, organized, and attractive displays that help plants sell throughout the busy spring and summer seasons.
As a Seasonal Outdoor Garden Center Merchandiser, you are the face of Rainbow, ensuring our outdoor products are properly maintained by keeping displays organized and following company standards. Successful merchandisers work hard, understand that details matter, follow directions easily and completely, and are self-motivated. Merchandisers are responsible for the visual presentation and integrity of our products, as well as pricing accuracy and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandise and display outdoor live plants according to company guidelines
- Rotate, cull, and organize product to ensure a fresh and appealing presentation
- Build, restock, and tidy outdoor displays as new shipments arrive
- Ensure the outdoor garden center is organized and customer-ready
- Communicate effectively with your direct report
- Provide regular updates, photos, and task reports
- Follow all safety practices
- Work comfortably in all outdoor weather conditions
- Maintain a consistent schedule and reliably complete assigned hours during the seasonal period
What You Bring
- Dependability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to completing seasonal shifts, including early mornings
- Comfort working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical capability to lift, push, pull, carry, and move products of varying weights
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to high presentation standards
- Positive, professional communication and customer service skills
- Experience in merchandising and/or retail is an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume seasonal environment
- Ability to problem-solve on the go and adapt to changing priorities
- Access to an active cell phone and CSA-approved steel-toe shoes
- Full Availability Requirement: This role requires full availability during the seasonal period. Individuals on a study permit who cannot work 40 hours per week may not be an ideal fit
- Saturday availability is required
