About the Opportunity
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, responsible for building the organizational structure and people strategy required to support our 2x growth plan. Operating in a fast-paced, seasonal environment, this role balances high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
This leader will build strong cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Merchandising, Finance, Payroll, and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, while directly leading the HR team, Recruitment team, and Health & Safety Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and lead workforce planning, organizational design, and succession strategy aligned with growth objectives
• Develop and strengthen HR as a proactive business partner across functions
• Oversee total rewards and compensation strategy in partnership with Finance and Leadership
• Embed leadership standards and performance expectations grounded in GRIT values
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, human rights, and health & safety legislation across provinces
• Build scalable talent acquisition and onboarding systems to support seasonal growth
• Own HR metrics and reporting to support data-driven decision-making
• Coach, develop, and lead a high-performing HR team

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• CPHR designation preferred
• 7+ years progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in senior leadership
• Proven experience having built and scaled HR infrastructure

• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation
