Sales Commission Analyst III

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Calculates commission/incentive award payments to sales personnel based on commission plan provisions. Establishes business processes and best practices to ensure commission data integrity and calculations are accurate and comply with commission plans. Evaluates sales plan provisions to develop calculators and examples for use outside of sales systems.

  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced proficiency in Excel with knowledge of writing and applying formulas. Good logic and math skills. Advanced knowledge of commissions processing tools and systems, specifically CallidusCloud Commission Software. Advanced analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work.   • JOB COMPLEXITY: Maintains and audits information needed to track sales revenue and variable compensation for commission eligible Rackers. Gathers data for payment calculation; prepares commission calculations, reports, system uploads and data files. Audits commission and payment files to ensure accuracy, identifies data integrity issues, determines root cause and problem resolution, implements resolution and defines best practice to avoid. Implements changes to resolve data integrity issues. Establishes policy and process to ensure documentation complies with internal controls; works with lower level analysts to ensure processes are properly followed. Develops, maintains, and improves reports to effectively track or capture data. Resolves the most complex reconciliation issues. Serves as the highest escalation point of contact for commission related questions. Evaluates and improves best practices and common process to update commission plan provisions and system configuration documentation necessary to calculate correct payment; creates common templates and tools utilizing Excel to prepare calculators for Rackers and leaders demonstrating the commission calculation methodology. Mentors lower level analysts on the development, use, and communication of calculators. Leads conversations to evaluate business goals and develop commission plans that support the attainment of stated goals; including the analysis of positive and negatives impacts of metrics and measures. Leads change management for commission plan changes in systems and tools.
  • SUPERVISION: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide guidance and training to new team members. Experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME), is the authority on the subject and serves as an escalation point. Mentors and trains others.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field required. Requires 3-5 years of related work experience in commissions, sales operations, and/or payroll processing and in-depth experience with CallidusCloud Commission Software. High school diploma or equivalent required. At the manager’s discretion, experience may substitute for education at a rate of 3 years experience to 1 year of education; a combination of education and experience may be used.
