Working in partnership to the Senior Director, Client Services your main responsibility will be to enable them to meet their objectives and help build a high performing team. In addition to the fundamentals of an EA role, you will be expected to bring an eye for operational governance, strategic planning, and effective communication.

Though your main focus will be to the Senior Director, you will be expected to support your leader’s direct team indirectly. Acting as an extension to him in driving accountability, project completion and output with the main objective of lifting your leader out of the weeds to focus on the big picture.  

The role has been designed to make the best use of his time by dealing with all administrative tasks, preparing Leadership Meetings, including chairing in absence of leader, taking actions in meetings and driving actions to completion. You must be the sort of person that is thinking ahead at all times, proactive with creation of things such as management frameworks, confident in actively managing someone’s time on their behalf, (not just diary management) and confident driving your leader to be the best they can be.

As this role sits within our Client Service function you will need to be confident in dealing with customers on your leaders behalf and ready to roll up your sleeves and help the Leadership Team whenever a customer is concerned. You will work alongside your leader to drive proactive customer engagements across his business and will facilitate with the tracking of these engagements and making sure your leader holds his team to account.

You will need to be willing to understand how we service our customers and understand your leaders business objectives. Work in partnership to create ways to make him effective, whether this is protecting his time, creating wow moments for customers or encouraging recognition in the team to maintain employee engagement. This role is seen as an overall enabler  that allows leadership to concentrate on running their businesses, and you should be the person to reduce and take projects and tasks on as your own, bringing solutions to the table. You will be proactive and used to working in an agile and face paced environment.

Person Specification

  • A self-starter, capable of acting on own initiative and proactively managing competing demands and pressures and able to multi-task effectively.
  • A successful track-record of working in a comparable senior role in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively, with a range of colleagues in the wider organisation, as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, oral communication skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Highly competent IT skills across standard Microsoft packages.
  • A genuine and demonstrable commitment to the values and ethos of Rackspace.
  • Used to working with confidential information so there is a requirement to be mindful and conscientious.
  • Customer contact and assistance provided in an efficient manner.
  • All project tasks and team events coordinated and delivered to the deadlines agreed.
  • Efficient team working with EAs regarding Leadership Team.
