Program Manager III, Performance and Talent

Human Resources San Antonio, Texas

We are seeking a Program Manager III, Performance and Talent to join our global HR Strategy and M&A team working within the global HR Services organization.

How do we contribute to the achievement of business priorities?
Evolving and sustainable business strategies require different behaviors and different performance from individuals, teams and the company. This type of change is our sweet spot. Our role is to partner with our frontline, global Racker Relations team, business leaders and HR COEs to identify and remove current and future roadblocks to organizational performance. We use our know-how and business input to design and facilitate the implementation of strategic performance and talent practices that enable the work that matters most to our customers.

What would be your role on this team?

As the performance management program manager and SME, you put your talents to work in shaping, enabling and supporting a culture that performs.

  • Lead Rackspace’s global, end-to-end Performance Management practice and cycle plan, including leading the revamp of our current practice as one of HR’s top 2020 strategic priorities.
    • Own the strategy and practice design, while building out the systems and end-to-end processes to support its execution.
    • Significantly strengthen Rackspace as a feedback culture and immediately equip managers/Rackers in walking through our 2019 cycle currently underway.
    • Identify and track metrics that ensure accountability and discipline.
    • Redesign the competency model and rollout new core competencies in support of the 2020 performance management process.
    • Integrate development planning (non-executive) processes into the performance management practice.
    • Collaborate on the configuration and utilization of systems that support performance enablement, ensuring effective feedback mechanisms and intuitive process completion.
  • Conduct business needs analysis and implement changes that improve the effectiveness of organizational performance.
  • Manage the promotion process, including its current redesign.
  • Build manager skills in effective performance, development and career coaching, and develop training that ensures effective use of Rackspace’s performance tools.
  • Collaborate with the broader team on understanding customer and business priorities and needs, the design and implementation of the holistic talent management and HR agenda, and mobilizing internal and external groups to achieve strategy and goals.
You will be a great fit if you:
  • Understand everything written above and still have high energy.
  • Are curious about the business and ask questions others secretly wish they thought of.
  • Are a strategic thinker, wowing others in how you connect the dots between business strategy and the design of the performance strategy, and enable its delivery.
  • Relish whiteboarding strategies and designing practices as much as rolling up your sleeves to build out and execute… and you’re good at both!
  • Drive program strategy and set best practice, using data story-telling to challenge norms and solution with others, including C-Suite leaders.
  • Are a powerhouse in change management, shamelessly enjoying excel spreadsheets, detailing plans and keeping the wheels on the rails.
  • Maintain a great sense of humor while skillfully keeping many plates circling in the air.
  • Thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic function, effectively shifting gears with an all-hands, can do attitude.
What are the qualifications and experience that have prepared you for this moment?
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Performance Management best practices keeping pace with the latest research and performance management tools.
  • Effectively led large scale organizational change initiatives, leveraging proven change management skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
  • Created and implemented organizational communication plans pre, during and post the launch of programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability in defining problems, establishing alternatives, and determining the optimal course of action in the context of broader business strategies and objectives.
  • Proven ability in leveraging data insights to identify risks and influence decisions for solid solutions.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to changing environment and shifting priorities.
  • Requiring independent decision making, discretion and judgment, and an ability to self-manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
