The Corporate Communications team at Rackspace is looking for a savvy, proactive communications professional who is up for a chance to lead the industry with break-through, dynamic executive communications as an Executive Communications Manager. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced and passionate executive communications professional, who has a successful track record translating strategic business priorities and company strategy into an integrated and unified executive communications plan, as well as excelling in the execution of the plan.  This person will partner closely with Rackspace’s executives to translate their ideas and strategies into compelling communications across a range of media: presentations, speeches, email, video as well as other mediums. Communications will be timely and relevant and align to the important initiatives across the business. This position works directly with the PR, AR, Blog and Social team ensuring that executive communications exemplify the corporate messaging and are aligned with messages delivered by other senior Rackspace executives.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Work with all levels of Executive Management on the messaging strategy, design, development, integrity and the delivery of different forms of communications for corporate external and internal presentations, blogs, etc.
  • Ability to work successfully with other members of the communications team, and with the company’s leaders.
  • Creates message development, content development and approves all PowerPoint presentations and written speeches before executive level viewing and editing.
  • Provides creative and business solutions for illustrating key messages via PowerPoint, speeches, blogs, etc.
  • Identify new and economical ways to distribute presentation materials utilizing a variety of electronic mediums.
  • Shares responsibility in managing presentation database and updating statistics listed in presentations database.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and the overall corporate calendar. Includes managing employees and outside contract employees on advanced presentations.

 

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology, or related field required.
  • 10 to 15 years executive communications experience including demonstrated experience developing and executing internal and/or external communications plans.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent communications skills through all media to synthesize complex subjects into key compelling narratives and messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ideas into ‘storytelling’ and capture the hearts and minds of targeted audiences.
  • Understands the executives’ function and business strategy.
  • Strategic thinking skills across multiple communication disciplines.
  • Ability to partner across mix of constituents and organizations.
  • Good understanding of the IT industry.
  • Ability to advise/work directly with executives.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and best practices to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
