Senior Management Accountant (FTC)

Accounting / Finance Hayes, Greater London


 We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a desire to learn to join the Management Accounting team.  Attention to detail and excellent communication / interpersonal skills are essential. You will ensure accurate financial reporting on the performance and position of the EMEA and APAC companies through account reconciliation, variance analysis, application of financial reporting standards and understanding of transactions and movements on accounts. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Review accounting entries prepared by team members during month-end/ quarter-end close
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by team members
  • Ensure that the control environments are still accurate and in compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to discuss and resolve complex accounting issues
  • Liaise with business owners to ensure that processes and deadlines are clearly understood
  • Prepare/review schedules for company audits and liaise with auditors on reconciliations and analysis performed
  • Implement accounting policies and procedures
  • Be able to exercise judgement on complex accounting areas
  • Create processes around areas of responsibility to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results
  • Prepare assigned Statutory Financial Statements for the legal entities administered from the UK offices (includes EMEA and APAC region entities) to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis support to the Financial Reporting Manager and business as the need arises
  • Integral role in development, testing, and implementation of improvements on the processes that impact management accounting to ensure adequate controls are in place to meet audit and internal controls requirements, efficiency is achieved, productivity is increased, and quality is not compromised
  • Motivate, coach and mentor junior members of the team to achieve their maximum potential.
  • Critically review GL team accounting processes, such that they are completed with accuracy and within deadlines, allowing sufficient time for review
  • Actively seek out process improvements to reduce the close timetable
  • Develop processes that are scalable to cater for Rackspace growth, including expansion into new countries
  • Other ad hoc duties as identified by the center of excellence management team

Key Requirements:  

  • Qualified Accountant in either CIMA / ACCA
  • Experience with Oracle a must.
  • Experience of working in a multi-entity environment desirable
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work effectively with people in a high-growth, fast paced environment and drive results
  • Creative and collaborative team player
  • Attention to details
  • Good organisational skills
  • A passion for customer service with contagious enthusiasm and energy
  • Advanced Excel experience required as a minimum.
  • Self-starter, motivated to provide the highest possible level of responsiveness and performance as part of a team
