Senior EA to EMEA Managing Director (Maternity Cover)

The role works closely with the EMEA Managing Director (EMEA MD) on a 1:1 basis. The role combines operational, strategic, and communication; working alongside the EMEA MD to assist him with driving performance of the EMEA region to meet operational targets and metrics as well as ongoing assessments of future priorities.

You will be solely responsible for managing the MD’s time, planning-ahead, using your initiative, adding structure and rigour to day to day activities, taking on administrative tasks, implementing processes, etc. The role is seen as an overall enabler for the EMEA MD so he can concentrate on strategic and operational priorities. You will be seen as a person to reduce workload and take on tasks autonomously, including proactively bringing solutions to the table.

The role will work closely with the EMEA leadership team (9 leaders), ensuring the management framework put in place is adhered to and that the team are working towards the same goals, outcomes and timelines. It is your responsibility to apply effective governance to ensure the entire team are meeting business objectives and milestones.

In addition to this, the role is responsible for the line management of the EMEA EA Team. This group has an established ways of working so it will be important to continue the traction here, ensure there is consistency and strong standards across the team.

Person Specification 

  • A self-starter, capable of acting on own initiative and proactively managing competing demands and pressures and able to multi-task effectively.
  • As an extension of the MD, stay true to the Rackspace leadership behaviours and core values we strive to have. Be professional, approachable and efficient always.
  • A successful track-record of working in a comparable senior role in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively, with a range of colleagues in the wider organisation, as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, oral communication skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Highly competent IT skills across standard Microsoft packages.
  • A genuine and demonstrable commitment to the values and ethos of Rackspace.
  • Used to working with confidential information so there is a requirement to be mindful and conscientious.
  • Customer contact and assistance provided in an efficient manner.
  • All project tasks and team events coordinated and delivered to the deadlines agreed.
  • Efficient team working with EAs regarding Leadership Team.
  • Flexible and can-do attitude. Rackspace are flexible with Rackers who offer flexibility themselves.
