Rackspace is looking for a Marketing Programs Coordinator to join our team. As a Marketing Programs Coordinator, you will work to provide logistical support, project management and execution for Rackspace events targeting IT influencers & IT decision makers, partners and internal Rackspace stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience executing and supporting tradeshows with proven talent in working cross-functionally with teams such as field marketing, sales and executive leadership. In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to offer input surrounding event goals, content, and promotion strategy, as well as oversee a budget and coordinate all event logistics. Our Marketing Programs Specialist II will utilize exceptional project management skills and exercise excellence judgement in budget management. Additionally, this person will build trusting relationships with Field Marketing, Sales, Creative Services, Product, Corporate Communications, and will coordinate with executive admins to suggest Executive Leadership attendance. Most importantly, this candidate is expected to positively represent Rackspace to the outside market through face-to-face interactions with customers, prospects, partners, and media.

JOB COMPLEXITY:
Supports the development and deployment of US marketing event programs. Monitors and tracks marketing programs, ensuring alignment with stated goals and objectives. Roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on registration platforms such as event landing pages, email invitations, etc.
    • With hands on training, this candidate will become proficient at researching venues, booking event dates, sourcing room blocks, contract negotiation for meeting space, customer dinners and F&B orders, registering Rackers and guests for events, managing guest lists; etc.
    • Communicates with existing Rackspace customers and partners, upholding our values with the highest level of professionalism
    • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors
    • Maintain an organized and working inventory of event storage rooms
    • Create, maintain and update preferred vendor list’s per region
    • Analyze internal event processes and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Technical Skills: must have experience in MS Office Suite, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive; must be proficient in managing multiple worksheets in a workbook and manipulating/filtering data in Excel files; knowledge of Slack, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CVENT (or other registration platforms), considered a plus

In this role you will:

  • Oversee event logistics including, but not limited to: Researching venues, booking event dates, sourcing room blocks, contract negotiation for meeting space and customer dinners, registering Rackers and guests for events, managing guest lists; etc.
  • Organize communication plan to keep stakeholders accountable and on track to meet deadlines
  • Contribute input to overall event plan and message to the market, coordinates procurement of giveaways and collateral
  • Responsible for ancillary event set-up that is tied to your tradeshow i.e.: Dinner or Influencer Event
  • Develop day-of event show operations schedule to include all Racker staffing needs
  • Interface with existing Rackspace customers and partners
  • Monitor set MDF allocation per each event according to protocols set by each partner
  • Execution of pre & post event communications

 

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in event marketing or project management.
  • Budget management experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. strong presentation skills. ability to apply knowledge and best practices to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-35% travel - Domestic, some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to provide FANATICAL support.
