ERP Project Manager

Rackspace is seeking a full-time ERP Project Manager to support planning, implementation and successful delivery of projects for clients, as well as internal projects and daily management. The successful candidate must have either a background in either Oracle ERP or SAP ERP.

This person will have a disciplined approach to managing clients, planning, organizing and scheduling resources, great attention to detail, and an understanding of the importance of process fulfillment. The successful candidate will see the value in detailed tasks in relation to the "big picture" and will make significant contributions to the development of processes and procedures that drive our business forward.


The ERP Project Manager will manage the end to end delivery of projects for clients which includes, but isn’t limited to the following:

  • Oversee and take responsibility for the successful completion and timeliness of projects within a set budget
  • Create and maintain project plans inclusive of communication matrix, responsibility matrix, schedule, and budget
  • Lead business and functional requirements definition and prioritization of requirements
  • Owns and executes the project according to our defined methodology
  • Secure customer sign off for each delivery phase
  • Ensure all internal project documentation is created, maintained, and properly saved
  • Participate in the creation and review of all project documentation
  • Manage client expectations and maintain communication throughout the course of the project
  • Prepare reports for clients and internal management regarding the status of projects and address issues/concerns when appropriate
  • Lead internal project team meetings and meetings with the customer
  • Participate in internal projects as required
Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of project management experience with a background in professional services/consulting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in full life cycle ERP implementations or equivalent experience managing large, complex, ERP solutions.
  • For candidates with an SAP ERP background:
  • Ideal candidates will have previous experience consulting in one or more modules and have real hands on experience with core modules including: SD, MM, PP, FI/CO
  • Experience managing upgrades, new implementations and template roll outs
  • S4 Conversion or Migration is a plus
  • For candidates with an Oracle ERP background:
  • Ideal candidates will have previous experience with multiple implementations involving Oracle ERP or have functional knowledge of Oracle ERP systems from a business user perspective
  • Experience with Oracle cloud or Oracle fusion is preferred
  • Background with Oracle Financials and Oracle Supply Chain Management, specifically Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay lifecycles
  • Experience working with mixed teams including onsite and offshore resources
  • Industry experience in logistics and manufacturing, including financials/back-end integration a plus
  • Experience in Waterfall and Agile approaches to project management
  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time (including but not limited to implementations, upgrades, and new installations)
  • Strong time management skills as you’ll have multiple priorities to focus on in a week that often changes based on client demands
  • The ability to be self-directed and work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment
  • Demonstration of good judgment; ability to know when to listen vs. ask questions
  • Innate service mentality and care for the client experience
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively mitigate risk
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong business and technical acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Must be able to perform the basic functions of the job
  • Remote work and travel - 50% - 70%
  • Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
