Job Title: Senior Solution Architect (206035)


Provide engineering and architecture input to the new business and current customer teams to ensure the provision of solutions that suit the defined technical service and budgetary requirements.  Assist the Sales Executives, Account Managers, and Business Development Consultants in qualifying and addressing prospect’s technical requirements.


  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:  Invaluable knowledge of all areas of business operations.  Able to resolve highly complex pre-sales technical problems, working with sales personnel.  Able to present advanced technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demos and proposals.  Advanced writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills.  Mastery of multiple server operating systems and mastery of networking, server, and internet technologies.  Excellent communication skills.  Attention to detail.  Strong follow through techniques.  Ability to communicate technical information and ideas so others will understand.  Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.  Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.  Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals.  Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.  Ability to provide FANATICAL support.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Serves as the point of contact for team when SE Manager is out of the office (i.e., helping align resources and coverage, attendance in meetings on behalf of Manager, follow-up on SE related projects.  Works to customize highly complex configurations in response to customer needs with minimal to no supervsion.  Typically handles complex server opportunities plus associated services.  Collaborates with Sales Representatives to determine best product and services fit.  This is accomplished via conference calls, site visits, and e-mail correspondence.  Works with the sales and account management teams to craft proposals and present to prospects.  Able to demonstrate strong analysis capabilities and technical knowledge by providing innovative, supportable technical solutions.  Removed from formal on-call rotation, but serves as the escalation to on-call SE’s on their team.  Provides training to Sales Staff during initial sales training.  Likely asked to present content to customers and users while attending Conferences, Industry, and Marketing events.  Works with operational staff, as it relates to initiatives that affect the SE Team.  Interfaces with Product Liaison by working with new product initiatives to ensure completeness and relevance to customer requirements.
  • SUPERVISION:  Operates without supervision.  May provide work direction to less experienced engineers. May act as a team leader.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Requires a minimum of 10+ years of technical support experience or pre-sales technical support experience.  Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field, preferred.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  General office environment.  May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor.  High levels of stress may occur at times.  No special physical demands required.


  • Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.
