Position Summary

RelationEdge is seeking a full-time Technical Architect to join our team in a client-facing role that combines technical responsibilities and traditional consulting elements. The Technical Architect will be involved in the post-sales, implementation stage of RelationEdge’s services and solutions and act as the technical adviser in the presales/discovery process.


  • The Technical Architect will deliver Salesforce solution definition, implementation, customization, integration, and managed services for clients which will include, but isn’t limited to the following:
  • Design customized solutions and execute the solution by leveraging SFDC and other toolsets
  • Demonstrate understanding of business drivers and how they influence the Salesforce design
  • Assist in defining required features and mapping Salesforce features to client business processes
  • Collaborate with a team of Project Managers and Salesforce Developers and Engineers to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs with a consideration for the client’s business process and potential constraints (budget, timeline, expertise, etc.)
  • Leverage understanding of business drivers for professional services projects when defining required features and mapping Salesforce features to business processes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Salesforce platform architecture, including classic interface as it pertains to Apex and VF and the Lightning interface as it pertains to Lightning components, JavaScript styles and how they’re related
  • Business processes - Strong business acumen to understand all aspects of the businesses including marketing, sales, order processing, operations/fulfillment, accounting, inventory, product development/management, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Salesforce platform; stay up-to-date on new SFDC products
  • Participate in the creation and documentation of end-user requirements of new and/or existing customer application implementation projects
  • Create and maintain system-related documentation, such as business requirements, process flows, data maps, configuration worksheets, etc.
  • Establish and build a rapport with clients throughout the project lifecycle to identify areas of future business
  • Train clients on Salesforce in relation to their business processes and best practices while reviewing other developers training prep
  • Research new technologies and stay abreast of new products and services. Apply these solutions as part of the service delivery continuous improvement mission
  • Ensure timely delivery of committed services with a consideration of customer satisfaction with ability to handle client escalations
  • Develop complex workflows and assignment rules to automate manual processes
  • Validate the development and configuration work to ensure it meets the project’s criteria
  • Work with Executive Leadership in establishing project estimates and milestones
  • Manage task-level budget/scope to ensure client success and project profitability
  • Tactfully work with clients to address out of scope requests and coordinate with Project and/or Engagement Managers to realign expectations or seek additional scope/budget
  • Overall system architecture; a TA needs to be able to understand not just SFDC but how systems that we interface with work and how they would relate to SFDC such as ERP systems, Appexchange Apps and other CRM systems

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 plus years' of Salesforce Development experience
  • 5 plus years in a consulting environment
  • Extensive background with Salesforce development: Apex and Visualforce on the platform
  • Understanding of overall Lightning architecture is a must
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and to estimate overall work for one or more applications with multiple deliverables
  • Experience aligning business requirements with design specifications
  • Experience developing and implementing new functionalities and customizations on the Salesforce platform
  • Ability to accurately predict time required to complete development tasks, adhere closely to development plans and anticipate changes to a product specification or schedule as they become necessary during the development cycle
  • Experience creating process and business flow diagrams, use cases, storyboards, and training documents
  • Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or similar SDLC methodologies
  • Extensive knowledge of database management systems: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or other databases with SQL coding experience
  • Knowledge of development languages, scripts, and frameworks including, but not limited to Java, AJAX, REST, SOAP, PHP, XML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JavaScript libraries
  • Heroku development utilizing Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, or other language is a plus
  • Public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Apps is a plus
  • Diverse industry experience
  • Background and knowledge of other CRM software applications is a plus
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management or equivalent field
  • Required Certifications: Administrator, Platform Developer 1, Sales Cloud Consultant, and Service Cloud Consultant
  • Desired Certifications: CPQ, Community Cloud, Field Service Lightning, or Platform Developer 2
  • Must be able to perform the basic functions of the job
