The Data Engineer is responsible for the design and construction of data flows that assemble and refine complex data sets into usable information. They work with architects and team leads to deploy data-focused artifacts consistent with the architecture that satisfy documented functional/non-functional requirements.


What you’ll do

  • Create and maintain data pipelines and associated objects / services.
  • Work with data and design teams to define solutions and support data requirements.
  • Support and drive capabilities within Business Intelligence, Operational Reporting, Enterprise Data Warehouse, ETL, Enterprise Application Integrations and partner application functions.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Analyze data, find patterns, identify issues, and enhance and improve the integrity and quality of data and associated technical processes.
  • Support peers and associated activities that enhance the overall productivity and capabilities of the department and team.
  • Oversee/guide the development activities of fellow engineers in areas where they have subject matter expertise.
  • All other duties as assigned.


What you’ll bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field required; Graduate degree and/or professional certifications preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years’ experience in similar technical roles (ETL, Application Development, Data Science, Big Data, Reporting)
  • Experience with data warehouse and associated modeling / design (data mart, dimensions, facts)
  • Proficiency in enterprise integration and Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) platforms/IPaaS (SnapLogic, Informatica, SSIS)
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and scalable data stores / processes
  • Technical expertise: MarkLogic and/or Snowflake; Relational databases and SQL; Cloud and related technologies (AWS, S3, EC2, EMR, DynamoDB, Aurora, Athena, Glue, Lambda); Document markups (JSON, XML); Document data stores and REST API endpoints for data retrieval and update; Object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. (Python preferred)
  • Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
  • Trustworthy and accountable behavior, capable of viewing and maintaining confidential information daily.
