Education or Trade Knowledge
Use shop mathematics. Work from detailed prints, orders, sketches, charts, tables, manuals and instructions. Use a variety of measuring devices. Basic knowledge of shop manuals, instructions, practices, building and equipment procedures, mechanical, carpentry, and machining operations.
Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of experience in basic mechanic skills, basic fabrication skills, basic understanding of 5S systems

In Order Of Importance
% Of Time Required
Pull Shop order, verify details, and machine the order. Visually check machine for worn or missing parts and scan orders. Cut and end-fabricate order to customer specifications. Assemble grilles as needed. Work with measuring devices such as tape measures, caliper and proscale.
2. Inspection / Paperwork Verification
Inspect grilles for defects, using the Quality Standards and rework if needed. Verify color, species and quantity. Check end cope, dado and verify correct pattern.
3. Communication / Safety
Demonstrate effective communication skills and active listening skills. Interact effectively with all areas throughout the company.
Recognize safety issues and report them in a timely manner. Always use the proper PPE and safety equipment required in the department.
Count to verify lot size, package parts and label.
5. Continuous Improvement (Lean)
Recognize and eliminate waste in production areas, good organization and housekeeping skills (5S.) Take active role in continuous improvement culture (lean). Contribute one quality, safety, and productivity idea per month.
6. Primary Backup
Learn areas of Removable Grilles and WW/RBA as needed.
Essential Physical and Mental Requirements
Job Summary: Incumbent cuts, audits, scans and packages products within customer specifications to meet internal and external needs. Incumbent operates and performs emergency maintenance (where applicable) and performs machine adjustments within product specifications. Trains employees on proper machining procedures and specifications. Completes other tasks as needed.
