Summary

Under direct supervisor, assists with basic repairs, and machinery maintenance of mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatics, tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic maintenance and repairs to hydraulic/pneumatic systems (air lines, solenoids).
  • Performs basic maintenance and repairs on extruders, pullers, calibration tables, saws, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Performs basic maintenance activities on plant water systems.
  • Repairs and maintains material systems.
  • Installs plumbing, air and electrical utilities necessary for machine operation.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting activities to diagnose mechanical device issues.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Performs basic repairs and replaces defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Records completed work in accordance with established policies and practices.
  • Operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools for basic repair use.
  • May be requested to initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Perform other duties within scope of capabilities, as requested.

 

Education/Experience

  • 2+ years experience within an industrial manufacturing, or high production environment, or equivalent
  • Good knowledge and experience with mechanical applications.
  • Good work ethic and demonstrated leadership with the ability to foster teamwork.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple on-going projects.
  • Good adaptability with the ability to switch directions quickly and professionally.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, ability to read and understand blueprints desirable
  • Good computer proficiency with a variety of technology and systems.
  • Good capability with hand tools necessary to complete required work.
  • Good manual dexterity and able to lift up to 50 lbs
