This description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties that may be assigned as needed to assist production and protect the customer as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

-          Mechanical and Soft skills aptitude testing-TBD

-          Has a 2 year Tool & Die certificate and 3-5 years experience in Tool & Die or equivalent.

-          Complete Die PM’s as required without supervision.

-          Complete tooling design, die sharpening and repair as required without supervision.

-          Complete heat treating without supervision.

-          Able to program and run a CNC milling machine is a plus.

-          Ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively with immediate Supervisor, Production, Engineering and Management.

-          Willing to train others up to their own skill level and pursue additional training or education

-          Has demonstrated skills in Continuous Improvement and the Lean methodologies.

-          Assist with die setups.

-          Affective at training and coaching others for advancement. 

 

-          Must come equipped with own basic tools of the trade.

-          May need to work overtime on short notice as required by production.

-          Must maintain a valid forklift license.

 

Accurate and legible record keeping ability required including but not limited to daily work logs, general work orders, preventative maintenance work orders and tool crib procurements.

Education or Trade Knowledge

Is highly technical and possesses good communication skills. Basic knowledge of shop manuals, instructions, practices, building and equipment procedures, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, welding and machining operations.   Has a two year technical degree or equivalent experience.

Somewhat disagreeable involving intermittent exposure to dirt, chips, oil, grease, noise, heat with one to the extent of being objectionable.
