Plant Engineering Manager

Woodcraft Industries, a leading manufacturer of kitchen cabinet components, is seeking a Plant Engineering Manager to join our team at our Foreston, Minnesota location.

Responsibilities:

 

Provide engineering expertise to the facility in the area of equipment, automation, tooling, buildings and infrastructure.

 

Select, develop, train and supervise technical staff.

 

Support Plant Manager in preparing capital project proposal justifications for submittal.

 

Manage plant level capex projects for timely completion within approved budget.

 

Stay current on latest technologies, in particular robotics and automation.

 

Manage the facility maintenance department to achieve high equipment utilization and reliability.

 

Utilize and work with plant vendors and contractors for timely completion of projects, repairs, and modifications.

 

Manage various engineering and maintenance budget line items along with capital project budgets.

 

Understand power and energy costs, with an eye towards energy savings and efficiencies.

 

Maintain a knowledge base of building and safety codes; i.e. NFPA and electrical codes.

 

Understand plant safety goals and contribute to their achievement.

 

Assist Corporate Director of Engineering and Safety and Environmental Manager when needed.

 

 

Knowledge & Skills Required:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
  2. 7 + years of related experienced
  3. Knowledge of plant machinery and operating methods and procedures
  4. Strong project management, organizational skills
  5. Fundamental mechanical, electrical, and construction system knowledge

6.      Problem solving/creative thinking and analysis acumen

7.      Strong communication skills
