The Qualys Cloud Platform delivers businesses critical security intelligence continuously, enabling customers to automate the full spectrum of auditing, compliance, and protection of IT assets across on premises, endpoints, cloud, containers, and mobile environments.

Security risks have accelerated exponentially in last couple years and securing hybrid IT infrastructures has become more complex due to the increase in vulnerabilities discovered. Qualys Patch Management enables security and IT professionals to deploy patches and apply configurations changes to efficiently remediate all vulnerabilities detected by the Qualys platform.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has previously contributed, managed, or influenced IT security and patching programs for a mid-sized or a large organization.

As a SME, Patch Management, you will work with sales and customers to understand their IT security and compliance requirements, specially for patch management and vulnerabilities remediation across their hybrid IT infrastructure, offer technical advice and best practices to implement Qualys solutions.

In addition, the SME identifies new customer requirements and work with the product team to define enhancements and new capabilities to increase customer satisfaction and accelerate product adoption.

The SME also evangelizes the Qualys security platform: writing white-papers, highlighting competitive advantages, performing webinars, updating field teams, and conducting internal sales training as well as customer support training on key uses of the solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As part of a multi-faceted Product Management team, the SME plays a central role by interfacing with sales, support, and engineering to drive customer satisfaction, evangelize new capabilities, share best known methods, and other customer centric initiatives.
  • Must be able to articulate the company's technology and product positioning for Patch Management product line to both business and technical users
  • Must be able to respond to technical and operational questions of prospects and customers to assure technical feasibility and customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales and operational processes
  • Work closely with the Technical Account Managers (TAMs) to ensure customers' short- and long-term needs are met for existing, upsell, cross-sell, and new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Support and Engineering on customer escalations
  • Understand customers' IT and security needs, summarize, and communicate with Product Managers to uncover new areas of opportunity
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure urgent and important requirements are included in product release planning
  • Create and contribute to documentation regarding best practices, common use cases, how-to guides, troubleshooting sessions, blogs, and support knowledge articles
  • Contribute to sales-enablement packages and product messaging
  • Facilitate field sales training
  • Attending and speaking at conferences, seminars, and company-sponsored events

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT or cybersecurity industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A Big Plus: Experience with IT practices specifically with patch management
  • A Plus: Strong knowledge of Qualys Platform and one or more Cloud Apps including: CyberSecurity Asset Management, Vulnerability Management, Policy Compliance, Endpoint Detection & Response, and Patch Management
  • Able to travel as/when needed
