Technical Account Manager, Post-Sales - SMB

As a member of the Qualys Account Management Team, the candidate will be focused on partnering with small businesses under 250 employees. SMB Post TAMs are the Qualys in-house product experts. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to perform consultative sales. 

The technical solutions team enables Qualy’s worldwide growth by serving existing clients and ensuring that these customers are happy and successful. Post TAMs share our technical and product expertise with customers through demos, presentations, technical evaluations, and ongoing support. SMB Post is a growing team that collaborates constantly to share knowledge and continuously advance our technical skillset. 

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Support, manage and sell to a defined geographic territory with under 250 employees
  • Develop relationships with a variety of clients and organizations in the small business space
  • Drive a culture of success through product expertise and positive account management
  • Create and deliver accurate sales forecasts
  • Perform product demos using web tools to prospects and customers
  • Partner with internal resources to provide a stellar experience for prospective customers and ensure their needs are being met


  • Ideal candidate will come from a security and/or networking background while performing an engineering, administration or support role.
  • General knowledge of current IT security fields including Firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems IDS, Intrusion Prevention Systems IPS, Vulnerability Management, Network Scanners (Nessus, nMap, Scan alert, ISS Internet Scanner), PCI, Policy Compliance/GRC-IT and Audit Tools is a plus
  • General knowledge of Desktop and Server operating system configuration, TCP/IP networking hardware, protocols, and LAN configuration, knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies, network design, and web security architectures is a plus
  • 2-3 years of closing experience in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry
  • Must have a strong technical background and possess an excellent work ethic with a ”make it happen” attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Works well in small group settings.
  • Most work is done over the phone with some occasional travel to clients, partners, trade shows, etc
