Senior Accountant

Description

The Senior Accountant will be an integral contributor to the finance and business operations of the company and will have a broad range of responsibilities, including all aspects of the monthly close, GL responsibilities, fulfilling the external reporting requirements, and developing process efficiencies. The individual in this position must be a self-starter and possess great attention to detail, strong financial acumen, high aptitude for technology and financial systems, and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist and participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close:
  • Prepare, review, upload, and post journal entries, including fixed assets, lease accounting, software capitalization, prepaids, legal accrual, marketing, consulting accrual, travel accrual, etc.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all Company cash, prepaid expenses, and liabilities are properly recorded and accrued for
  • Prepare schedules for financial reporting packages, including balance sheet and P&L flux
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure all information requirements and reporting deadlines are met
  • Support Accounts Payable team, as needed, including Concur extracts, new vendor creation
  • Assist in quarterly and annual audit preparations:
  • Prepare required audit reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Correspond directly with external and internal auditors to support necessary audit requirements
  • Assist with system implementations and process improvements:
  • Continually monitor and assess systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and drive optimization
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting
  • Conduct special research and projects for the G/L and other ad hoc projects as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Big 4 CPA firm (or regional equivalent) and/or public company experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger, journal entry preparation, monthly & annual close processes
  • Hands on experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel is a must (e.g., vlookup, sumif, iferror, etc.)
