Subject Matter Expert, Cloud Agent

A Cloud Agent Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for supporting Cloud Agent Pre/Post-Sale TAMs for existing, upsell, cross-sell, and new opportunities.  The Cloud Agent SME must be able to articulate the company's technology and product positioning of the Cloud Agent product line to both business and technical users.

As part of a multi-faceted Product Management team, the Solution Engineer plays a central role by interfacing with sales, support and engineering to drive customer satisfaction, evangelize new capabilities, share best known methods, and other customer centric initiatives.

Must be able to respond to technical and operational questions of prospects and customers to assure technical feasibility and complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process, deployment, and operational processes.


  • Work closely with the Technical Account Managers (TAMs) to ensure customers' short- and long-term needs are met
  • Interface between Support and Engineering on customer escalations
  • Understand customers' security needs to help them solve those needs with Qualys' product and services
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure urgent and important requirements are included in product release planning and help in the reassessment of product roadmap
  • Identify areas of improvement, scalability, and efficiencies for product usage and support
  • Maintain vigilance with the cybersecurity industry and competitive landscape to influence the strategic direction of the product
  • Create and contribute to documentation regarding best practices, common use cases, How Tos, troubleshooting, blogs, and support knowledge articles
  • Contribute in the development of product related sales-enablement packages and product messaging
  • Facilitate the training of field sales (TAMs)
  • Responsible for attending and speaking at conferences, seminars, and company-sponsored events


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ideal candidate must be self-motivated and self-starter with strong inter-personal skills
  • Be able to quickly learn existing and new Qualys products and how they relate to Qualys Cloud Agent infrastructure
  • Must be able to learn and articulate the Qualys Platform at a high-level and communicate common use cases for each Cloud App
  • Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in person, over conference calls/WebEx, and written correspondence
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate technical obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • A broad working understanding of Enterprise and/or SMB infrastructure
  • Technical proficiency in Windows, Linux, and/or MacOS
  • A Big Plus: Possess strong knowledge of Qualys Cloud Agent and one or more Cloud Apps including: Vulnerability Management, Policy Compliance, File Integrity Monitoring, Endpoint Detection & Response, and Patch Management
  • A Plus: Security experience and/or previous experience with Qualys products and services
  • 3-5 years of hands on experience in the cybersecurity industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Able to travel up to 40%, as/when needed
