Description

As the Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Development, you will be responsible for creating and presenting a clear and confident message to the investment community on behalf of Qualys and leading the company’s M&A efforts as well. You will be responsible for preparing our earnings presentations, press releases, all quarterly earnings-related content, and contribute to the development of annual reports, SEC filings, and proxy statements, representing the voice of the investor internally. Additionally, you will lead the evaluation of M&A opportunities, driving them to closure. This role will report to the CFO and work closely with the CEO and the President.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare key investment messages and presentations to communicate financial performance, business conditions, and company strategy to sell-side analysts and institutional investors in conjunction with the quarterly earnings process, which includes creating all communication materials, drafting earnings releases, call scripts, accompanying presentations, as well as preparing talking points and relevant Q&A
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with analysts and investors and other members of Qualys executive team
  • Perform investor targeting; maintaining existing and attracting new long-term investors 
  • Create a working example of the models used by sellside analysts to predict company performance
  • Maintain strong company and sector expertise; stay current on all company and related industry activity in order to be responsive to investors and media and to communicate effectively with management
  • Manage and participate in investment conferences and organize non-deal roadshows as applicable
  • Maintain competitive analyses, including the development of industry and peer company performance benchmarks. Continuously measure and update this information and use it to provide a relative performance framework for the investment community
  • Engage in business development activities to source, approach, and qualify potential partners and acquisition targets
  • Perform thorough evaluations of new business/acquisition opportunities through analysis of potential target/partner’s business, including technology platform, business strategy, financial prospects, and strategic fit
  • Manage the due diligence process from both a technology and operational viewpoint
  • Facilitate cross-functional team to execute M&A deals and lead transition from deals to business operations

  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized with prior experience having gathered, structured, monitored, and validated data to ensure data integrity and detailed documentation; has developed a habit of checking the accuracy of data and analysis several times over before submitting for review
  • Significant expertise and love of auditable financial modeling and setting up automated processes to increase the effectiveness of the team and minimize room for error
  • Excellent multi-tasker who is always “on it” with stellar time and project management skills; understands the importance of planning in advance to meet deadlines that include multiple review points and iterations
  • Strong communicator, both written & verbal; reliable and responsive to email and phone communications; and
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of combined experience in investment banking or research and investor relations at a public SaaS company
