This is a full time, onsite position, 5 days/week.
Summary of the Desktop Systems Support Specialist
As a skilled specialist, this Desktop Systems Support Specialist will be responsible for completing tasks in resourceful and effective ways to internal employees of the Company. They will work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative, and understand the implications of their work in order to make recommendations for solutions. At times, the Specialist will need to apply advanced troubleshooting skills and problem solving, and will be expected to make decisions impacting individuals and propose solutions impacting larger organizational units or teams. Strong communication skills are key to escalate problems, engage with vendors, and collaborate with team members and employees outside the IT organization.
Responsibilities for the Desktop Systems Support Specialist
- Engage with vendors for technical discussions
- Provide collaboration and technical support to peers and other teams
- Install, configure, and maintain company end user compute environment
- Install, configure, and maintain application software running in the company infrastructure
- Organize installations and updates in compliance with Change Control policies
- Participate in projects, including company-wide migrations, both in-office and remotely
- Develop and maintains the software application configurations, including documentation of IT operation runbook
- Work closely with other roles to research new tools and technologies that can better support business needs
- Proactively monitor and tune systems to be able to react to issues before they become an incident
- Provide expertise, collaboration, and technical support to the Corporate IT Operations department to continuously improve policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications of the Desktop Systems Support Specialist
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 to 6 years of related experience including:
- 4+ years working with Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- 3+ years working with Microsoft Active Directory
- 2+ years as a system administrator /desktop engineer
- 2+ years working with Microsoft Office 365 Administration
- 2+ years working with PowerShell – Advanced Scripting
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
