About the Backend AI Engineer

You'll play a key part in innovative new AI projects for Qualifacts. As a Backend AI Engineer, you will work within an agile team to develop new products that will have the opportunity to be distributed to more than 125,000 behavioral health clinicians and millions of patients. We will be building AI products from the ground up to complement Qualifacts’ four platforms.

We are looking for developers with experience in Go/Python/Node/JVM. As we will be building a fresh product, you will have a say in how we approach our stack. 


Responsibilities of the Backend AI Engineer

• Design and implement technical solutions 
• Bring new ideas, solutions, and feedback to the team 
• Improve our code base by refactoring, optimizing, and keeping up to date with the latest methods and frameworks 
• Help us meet the technical challenges of global expansion such as load management, legal compliance, and localization 
• Write fast, efficient, and high-quality code that will help us deliver great value to our customers 
• Test your work thoroughly and have a low tolerance for bugs 

Required Skills of the Backend AI Engineer

• 4-5 years of enterprise software development experience. SaaS experience is strongly preferred
• Strong computer science fundamentals and database design 
• Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, etc) 
• Past experience in software development (professional or personal projects) 
• Some experience with one or more of the following Go/Python/Node/JVM 
• Understanding of web networking including HTTP 
• Have a QA mindset and know different testing strategies 
• Great work ethic and motivation to learn and improve 

Desired Skills of the Backend AI Engineer

• Experience with Django or ES6 
• Experience with OpenAI and/or other LLMs or machine learning models in general
