Summary of the Compensation Consultant
This is a wonderful opportunity to accelerate your compensation experience by building a compensation practice at Qualifacts. Reporting to the Director of HRIS & Compensation, the Compensation Consultant will work with our HR team to design, implement, and manage all compensation-related programs and processes. The Compensation Consultant will also work to build a compensation foundation to evolve and improve programs and processes to meet business and employee objectives. You will also lead integrating acquisitions into compensation programs, participating in external compensation surveys and benchmark compensations roles for market alignment, and developing sales and non-sales compensation plans, including commissions, merit, and bonus, utilizing pay-for performance models.
Responsibilities for the Compensation Consultant
- Evaluates and levels jobs to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness
- Consults, analyzes and advises HR regarding market analysis, job evaluation, pay equity and other compensation initiatives
- Reviews proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices
- Recommends corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems
- Provides consultation on complex compensation and works with the business to influence outcomes in alignment with compensation standards
- Evolves compensation foundation (Radford-aligned job leveling, compensation bands, career path)
- Facilitates Non-Sales compensation programs/projects (incentive, merit, bonus)
- Models compensation data, performs sensitivity analysis, and works with Finance team to budget for compensation increases and programs
- Represent compensation and/or serve as a project manager on specified initiatives
- Participates and facilitates salary surveys and audits regularly
- Provides consultation in due diligence and integrates acquisitions into compensation programs, as needed
- BS/BA degree with focus in HR, Compensation or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in a Compensation role
- Experience with global technology companies specifically experience in Canada and India
- Experience with CompAnalyst or similar compensation tools
- Experience with Radford job structure and surveys
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred
- Experience with UKG UltiPro/Workday preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Compensation Consultant
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively translate data to varying audiences through reports and presentations
- Advanced Excel skills for modeling is required
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles
- The ability to Implement and administer compensation policies and programs
