Summary of the Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer works on the Professional Services team as the backbone of our solutions architecture development. This role conducts discovery and solutioning calls, gathers and documents business requirements to better understand a client’s business and scope of work, and ultimately build out solutions for customers. Solutions Engineers must cooperate with many internal teams such as sales, customer success, and product/engineering. By working with us you will be promoting interoperability in the healthcare space to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities for the Sales and Solutions Engineer

  • Work with professional services, sales, customer success, and product/engineering to build custom integrations, consult on APIs, and provide workflow recommendations

  • Conduct discovery and solutioning calls, gather and document business requirements to better understand a client’s business and scope of work

  • Meet with clients to discuss their specific workflow requirements and/or integration needs

  • Scope and help to build client-focused API and/or SDK-focused solutions

  • Strategize with the sales team to create customized solutions for prospects

  • Help to monitor and test the performance of our recommended and built solutions

  • Where applicable, monitor and manage project allocations, scope, and schedules to ensure they are delivered on-time and on-budget

  • Collaborate with product and engineering on development work, and to help define, scope, and build roadmap items relating to integrations, APIs and/or SDKs

  • Provide consistent feedback to the entire team on enhancements we can make to product development

  • Support the professional services team and other internal teams with all technical related queries from prospects and customers


Qualifications of the Solutions Engineer

  • Minimum 2 years related experience in software engineering, or solutions consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
  • Experience speaking to, and solutioning, with APIs and/or SDKs is a must
  • Proficiency in basic scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience with specific cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Knowledge of RESTful API principles
  • Familiarity with Postman


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Solutions Engineer

  • Exceptional communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a clean, user-friendly way with respect to big picture software solutions
  • Understanding of cloud computing principles
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow coding standards
  • Experience in customer success and sales in a start up environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with integrating a variety of healthcare-focused software systems is a plus
  • Experience with either SQL or NoSQL databases is preferred
  • Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices is preferred
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.) is preferred
