Summary of the Software Engineer Technical Lead
Part of an agile development team responsible for building and working on enterprise software system framed in IT projects. Will provide technical leadership through coaching and mentoring. Lead activities such as research, development and production support. Develop projects according to the business requirements, based on the instituted Engineering Best Practices & Policies. Ensure that the engineering team has appropriate understanding of the business requirements, which are based on the artifacts delivered by the Business Analysts, Product Owners and Solutions Architects.
Responsibilities for the Software Engineer Technical Lead
- Review and suggest changes in the architecture's component distribution and/or on the software selection
- Review, discuss & send any database changes based on enterprise patterns, according to what the Data Architect / DBA presents as a recommendation or constrain.
- Ensure that the engineers assigned get their tasks done on time and with expected quality
- Ensure that all source code meets the applicable software engineering standards, practices and rules of compliance
- Build a strong team and guide each team member to success
- Master and leverage CI processes and technology excellence
- Communicate/coordinate effectively with peers and other departments
Qualifications of the Software Engineer Technical Lead
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Information Systems or other related IT field
- 4 years’ experience as a developer on end-user applications and back-end services to include 4 years of experience in each of the following:
- developing J2EE web applications and/or using “Open Source” software
- working with Java 8 and above
- experience in languages: Java, JavaScript and SQL ANSI
- experience in front end frameworks: AngularJS or ReactJS
- experience in technologies: JSP, Servlets, JavaBeans, ORM, JMS, JPA and Tomcat
- working with databases like: Oracle, MariaDB or MongoDB
- Object Oriented Analysis and Design leveraging UML notation
- Java development environments such as Eclipse, IntelliJ or STS
- Engineering environment tools such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins and SonarQube; and implementing solutions leveraging an SOA paradigm approach
- Must have 3 years of exp. in open-source frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, and MyBatis and 3 years’ experience with Continuous Integration
- 2+ years’ experience leading teams
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Software Engineer Technical Lead
- Knowledge of SDLC frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, UML Artifacts, and/or Agile Iconix, etc.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Business Patterns, Enterprise Design Patterns, and Software Engineering Best Practices like Static Code Analysis, OWASP and/or Dynamic Analysis
