QTC's Advisory Division is seeking a seasoned commercial transactions and investment professional to join our Investment Team.
 
As part of the Industry, Investment, and Commercial (IIC) team, we collaborate closely with central agencies like Queensland Treasury, Premiers, and State Development departments to create better financial and economic outcomes for Queensland. Our objective is to provide top-tier corporate finance, financial due diligence, and transaction advice to enhance government investments across various real assets and infrastructure sectors. This includes transport, energy and social infrastructure (eg. housing, health, education, urban development and stadiums).
 
As a Principal within the Investment Team, you will:
  • Deliver strategic, financial, and commercial advice through internal teams and external partnerships.
  • Produce high-quality financial analysis, modelling and reports to support government decision-making.
  • Support execution of key investments through robust due diligence, development of terms sheets and other transaction documentation.
  • Develop and support investment pipelines and strategic projects.
  • Exhibit a broad spectrum of skills essential for transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and stakeholder communication.
Key responsibilities:
  • Strategic Advice: Provide expert advice on financial and commercial matters.
  • Report Writing: Create detailed reports and analyses for transaction/investment advisory assignments.
  • Support Transaction Execution: Provide due diligence, transaction management and other support to facilitate contractual execution
  • Project Development: Support and develop strategic investment opportunities.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with counterparties and stakeholders through various mediums.
What we are looking for:
  • Commercial transaction experience, including financial modelling, due diligence and transaction structuring. 
  • Ability to articulate investment rationale and suitable capital structures, also identify commercial and financial risks, including options to mitigate. 
  • Strong financial skills and commercial acumen with expertise negotiating deals.
  • Ability to distil complex financial and commercial issues into everyday language – verbal and written reporting. 
  • Synthesises the right data independently to identify high value insights.
  • Strong interest in improving government financial outcomes and transaction risk management.
  • Understanding of the investment decision making process within government for public sector investments and transactions is a plus. Particularly in real assets and infrastructure.
  • Experience in areas such as corporate finance, investment banking, capital markets, feasibility studies, market testing, restructuring, mergers and acquisition, due diligence and / or transaction structuring.
