Security Operations Specialist
Description
Join QTC as a Security Operations Specialist and play a key role in strengthening our cybersecurity. Collaborate with support teams to tackle vulnerabilities, manage cyber incidents, and enhance security practices.
What You'll Do:
Security Operations and Delivery:
- Work with support partners to remediate security vulnerabilities from scans, tests, and audits.
- Improve QTC’s security posture with ACSC Essential 8 and SWIFT frameworks.
- Remediate cyber incidents as part of the support team.
- Fulfill cyber-related requests in operational processes.
- Support the creation and evolution of cyber metrics for management.
- Provide security input for new technology solutions.
- Deliver cyber initiatives to enhance QTC’s cyber posture.
- Contribute to process and procedural documentation.
Identity and Access Management:
- Manage and evolve the identity access lifecycle for QTC staff, ensuring a seamless experience in provisioning, modifying, and deprovisioning access.
- Support the review of application security access requests in line with the Application Governance Framework.
Security Culture:
- Support the delivery of QTC’s Cyber Security Awareness Program
- Assist with the delivery of training and the development of related materials.
About You:
Technical Competencies
- Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and resolve conflicts.
- Strong vendor management and service delivery skills.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and results-focused approach.
- Knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions, and experience in risk management.
- Ability to work autonomously and with diverse stakeholders, with strong communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Desirable certifications: Azure Architecture (AZ-305), TOGAF, CISSP, CCSP, SC-100, ISO27001, NIST, AZ-500.
- Additional qualifications in Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics are a plus.
Experience:
- Over 5 years of experience delivering operational security services in complex commercial environments.
- Expertise in implementing security services across public and private cloud infrastructures, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven track record of delivering services through an outsourced IT support model, managing external vendors effectively.
- Desirable experience in the financial industry and government bodies.
- Familiarity with aligning security practices with IS18 (ISO27001 and ACSC Essential 8).
- Experience with IDAM platforms such as OKTA or SailPoint.
