Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government. We manage the State’s funding program in global capital markets, delivering sustainable and cost-effective borrowings for the Queensland Government, local governments, and other public sector clients.
QTC also provides a range of financial advisory and risk management services to help State Government, Local Governments and other government entities to make well-informed decisions about the services, initiatives, policies, portfolios and projects they deliver. The common purpose being to improve the social and economic well-being of Queenslanders and the financial sustainability of the State.
About the Role
We are seeking TWO experienced and motivated Senior Associates to join the Economic Portfolios Group (EPG) within the Advisory Division. In this role, you will contribute strategic, financial and commercial advice to Queensland Treasury, supporting economic agencies, portfolio owners and managers, and infrastructure divisions across government. This includes collaborating on major projects and investment proposals contemplated by government.

About you
You are a strategic thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills, capable of translating complex macroeconomic developments into actionable insights. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, business, economics, or similar disciplines required for this role.
- Five to eight years employment experience in providing strategic, financial and commercial advice.
- Critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Relationship management skills including the proven ability to develop partnerships.
- Report writing, financial analysis and presentation skills.
Technical & Behavioural Competencies
- Strong financial, economic, industry and/or data modelling and analysis skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to take complex issues, identify strategic, actionable insights and present them in a clear and logical manner
- Personal drive and integrity and accepts accountability to deliver high quality work.
- Intellectual and professional curiosity, including commitment to self-development
- Purpose driven and strong interest in improving economic outcomes for the State and managing financial risk.
