We protect Queensland’s financial interests and deliver better financial outcomes by centralising the management of our clients’ borrowings, cash investments, and foreign exchange. 
Purpose of Role
We are currently recruiting a Brand Design Lead (Senior Associate) to contribute to the success and growth of Queensland Treasury Corporation, leading the development and delivery of outstanding brand design and delivery outcomes. Your role will work in tandem with one other senior designer and the Director Corporate Communications as part of a high performing Communications Team, focused on innovation and client excellence. 
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Brand and design
  • Work with the Director Corporate Communications to lead the review, enhancement and implementation of a refreshed branding and visual identity, using a planned approach. 
  • Lead refinements on process to manage workflows through the QTC Design Studio.
  • Lead identification and implementation of ongoing improvements for the QTC suite of Microsoft Office report templates and assist employees across the business in their use.
  • Provide Graphic Design and desktop publishing support as required, including producing compelling and effective designs for collateral including printed material, email signatures, event collateral (invitation build and design), infographics and other collateral as required. 
  • Support the innovating, editing and enhancement of external-facing PowerPoint presentations for client teams.
  • Assist in supplier management—sourcing quotes, budget management, and project liaison.
Publishing 
  • Lead the enhancement and publishing of QTC’s regular digital assets including Economics Weekly, Economics Monthly, Market Announcements, Monthly Cash Fund and FX Reports 
  • Manage and publish content to digital platforms—including corporate website (WordPress), intranet (SharePoint), EDMs (Campaign Monitor) and through the Adobe and Microsoft software suites.
QTC website and intranet 
  • Perform a lead role in planning, designing, and delivering a major external website uplift project, including identifying and driving website enhancements to improve the client experience.
  • Lead website key analytics and metrics from digital channels for reporting and enhancement purposes.
  • Lead the management of website updates with owners to ensure content is updated in a timely manner and manage WordPress patches and automated testing with IT and external supplier.
  • Coordinate QTC’s digital crisis response to activate QTC’s disaster recovery or maintenance page and establish procedures that are tested at half-yearly intervals.
Project management and Team administration
  • Assist in supplier management—sourcing quotes and coordinating procurement process.
  • Maintain a current and organised file management system in SharePoint.
  • Project management support and research across a range of different projects as required.
Reporting and supervisory responsibilities 
  • Reporting to the Director Corporate Communications, this role works in tandem with one other senior designer. 
  • The role has no direct reports but may be required to supervise freelance designers periodically.

Competencies
  • A proven ability to anticipate and exceed internal stakeholder expectations in a corporate environment.
  • Resource management, project management, implementation, and production experience (digital and physical).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
  • Capability to work cross functionally and collaborate, with the ability to work in a group and as an individual.
  • Integrity, including upholding strong professional and ethical standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency in filming and producing video content and photography for corporate use, including planning, shooting, editing, and delivering high-quality videos that align with corporate branding and communication strategies.
Qualifications
Essential
  • 6+ years demonstrated experience in a similar in-house senior role. 
  • Degree in communication, marketing or similar.
  • Design qualification and/or equivalent work experience with a folio showing examples of work. 
Desirable
  • Design qualification and/or equivalent work experience with a folio showing examples of work across the financial services, economic focused, government or semi-government environment. 
  • Experience in video editing, photography and motion graphics. 
  • Experience in WordPress, SharePoint, Google Analytics and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of design thinking and UX design principles.
  • Experience ideally within a financial services, economic focused, government or semi-government environment.
