Are you a seasoned project leader with a passion for driving impactful outcomes? We’re seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our high-performing PMO team.  
In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Chief Operating Officer and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Senior and Executive Leadership, to deliver critical strategic initiatives. 
  
Responsibilities & Accountabilities  
 
The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in leading the successful end-to-end delivery of a number key strategic projects and priorities for QTC as directed by the COO. These will initially include reviewing QTC short term and long term office accommodation opportunities and challenges and devising a strategic solution, seeking appropriate approvals and executing on that strategy.   
Other Key areas of responsibility and accountability for the Senior Project Manager will include:  
  • Other initiatives as directed by the COO
  • Overseeing activities to plan, scope and deliver for change in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with QTC’s strategic priorities, project governance framework, delivery processes and stakeholder expectations 
  • Undertaking market engagement, procurement and vendor selection activities in a manner that supports achieving optimal commercial outcomes for QTC 
  • Having high quality, timely and impactful communications to senior stakeholders including QTC’s Executive Leadership Team and Board on projects under their remit and building effective working relationships with those stakeholders to ensure delivery success  
  • Seamlessly adapting to changes in project scope and requirements while managing the impact on the project schedule, budget and resourcing 
  • Taking a proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving problems and escalating issues that may arise during the project lifecycle. 
  • Enabling effective communication within project team members and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors and senior management 
  • Leading change management activities associated with the delivery of projects to ensure the effective transition of new products, services, or ways of working into business-as-usual

  • Supporting the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) in reviewing and uplifting its project delivery capabilities, including standards and practices 
  • Travel within Australia may be required to fulfil the requirements of this role 
  • Other duties as deemed relevant to business requirements and within the technical competency of the position

Qualifications  
 
Essential  
Tertiary qualification in business management and relevant project management certifications or related discipline   
Desirable  
Post graduate qualification in project management or related discipline

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale, complex projects in diverse environments 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management methodologies, tools and techniques to deliver successful outcomes 
  • Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and management at all levels 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Sound knowledge of project governance principles and practices 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands 
  • High level of strategic thinking and business acumen 
Desirable  
  • Experience in organisational change management, including planning, leading, coordinating and managing change management activities, is desirable but not required.
