Job Summary

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for making decisions regarding data storage, organization and solution design in conjunction with the product software and professional services teams.

This includes owning areas of responsibility for how data is enriched, processed, persisted and retrieved across a wide range of data technology platforms including distributed data stores.

The position is highly technical requiring comprehensive knowledge of data storage architecture and technologies, including relational, NoSQL, graph, time-series, etc., as well as the benefits, trade-offs, and applicability of each to the problem domain. Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, fantastic attitude and be comfortable addressing new challenges on a daily basis.

· You will be working with functionally diverse teams and individuals to collaboratively design, support and maintain data solutions.
· Provide governance/oversight for data architecture decisions across teams.
· Collaborate with cross functional teams on efforts to improve data organization.
· Conduct root cause analyses of performance and instability of systems and designs with respect to accuracy and performance.
· Develop data modeling guides for different persistence paradigms articulating the virtues and limitations of various strategies (e.g. technology selection, intentional partitioning, denormalization, etc.) in order to build better fluency in our engineering teams on the most efficient means to organize and retrieve data.  

What you bring to the team

· Experience with big-data solution designs and the willingness/desire to challenge the status quo
· The technical strength to take ownership of data organization decisions and the ability to enforce governance through a collaborative approach
· A positive attitude around learning new skills and capabilities 


· 5-7 years of experience
· Adept at learning and applying new technologies
· Excellent communication skills
· Technical exposure to several of the following technologies:

· Databases: SQL,Wide Column, Document/Object, In-memory, Time Series,      Graph
· Programming: Various (expected to understand programming principles)
· Reside in the greater Washington D.C./Denver or are be able to relocate
