The Data Science Engineer Role

 

As a Data Science Engineer at Qlik, you'll be an integral part of the Global Support team, dedicated to empowering customers to deploy data science solutions using our automated machine learning platform, Qlik AutoML.

 

You'll play a crucial role in educating customers on data science concepts, providing hands-on training with Qlik AutoML, and helping them apply machine learning to their key business objectives.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

 

  • Data Requirements Definition: Collaborate with customers, end-users, and technical analysts to define data requirements and structures for machine learning use cases.
  • Educational Support: Educate customers on data science concepts and provide hands-on training with Qlik AutoML, guiding them through the process of designing datasets and predicting key business outcomes.
  • Analytics Expertise: Provide analytics expertise and guidance to data scientists, technical architects, and business users, enabling robust analytics capabilities and solutions.
  • Descriptive Analytics: Develop descriptive analytics solutions for customers to prepare for predictive analytics applications, helping them derive actionable insights from their data.
  • Data Engineering: Develop, design, and optimize complex Data Engineering queries to query and transform large datasets for use within prevalent database and BI solutions.
  • Customer Support: Field product and use case support questions to ensure customer success, document and coordinate support tickets to the engineering team.

 

We’re looking for a teammate with:

 

  • Understands the fundamentals of data science and supervised machine learning
  • Ability to inspect, validate, and analyze data and then interpret findings and portray them in a business-friendly context
  • Provide guidance on the next steps related to Machine Learning/Data Science use cases
  • Strong SQL and data engineering skills
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms (ex: Qlik, Domo, Snowflake, Looker, Tableau)
  • Desire to understand how data science can solve real-world business problems
  • Understanding of data modeling techniques and best practices
  • Comfort and desire to interface with customers on a daily basis
  • Team player

 

Preferred skills:

 

  • Applied experience using data science and machine learning to solve business problems
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Pandas
  • Experience architecting and deploying data warehouse projects/solutions

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $80,000 MIN to $124,000 MAX. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
