The Counsel Role

 

Qlik is seeking a bright, energetic, business-minded and self-motivated attorney to provide support for the Legal Department. The Counsel will support a wide range of commercial contracts for the Americas. The successful candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with various internal teams and external clients, which may include Procurement, Marketing, Sales, Partners, Finance and IT.

 

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

 

  • Negotiate vendor and marketing agreements, and train procurement and field marketing on contract policies and procedures.
  • Assist regional legal team in negotiating SaaS, software and services commercial agreements as well as related agreements, including confidentiality, data privacy and business associate agreements.
  • Support and review RFP/RFQ submissions.
  • Collaborate with legal colleagues and business stakeholders with respect to contract templates, manuals, policies or other materials and ensure regional/global consistency.
  • Proactively establish relationships with internal clients to support key strategic initiatives and improve how legal services are provided.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the product portfolio, and working knowledge of legal systems (contract management, esignature, ebilling) and sales systems (CRM, CPQ) as well as workflows. 
  • Contribute to process improvement, contract playbook, repository and general refinement of templates.
  • Balance legal risks against real-world business imperatives to provide pragmatic and business-based solutions.
  • Support legal team projects and transactions as needed.

 

We’re looking for a teammate with:

 

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law.
  • Minimum one year of experience with procurement and contract negotiation.  Prefer experience negotiating licensing and technology transaction agreements and related professional services contracts.
  • Passionate about technology and energized by the challenges of serving a dynamic and global growth company in a cutting-edge sector.
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and can engage effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills.
  • Has a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and can effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise and commercial advice and creative solutions where necessary on established timelines to meet their business needs.
  • Strong and astute negotiator with sound business judgment and integrity.
  • Team player who brings a positive, "can do" attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with other members of the global legal team and with internal and external clients.
  • Able to manage workload and shifting priorities within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $136,000 USD per year. Final compensation offered by Qlik will be based on factors such as the candidate’s location, job-related skills, education, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Qlik offers a comprehensive benefits package.
