The Engine Build Team Summer Worker Role

Join our Engine Core Team during the summer and work with the heart of Qlik’s analytics products: the Engine. As a team, we are responsible for the core part of the Qlik Analytics Engine. This is where the calculations and inference happen in real-time, the in-memory processing of very large sets of data, and we own many of the memory structures and the maths-heavy calculation functions that our customers can use, and we also deal a lot with parallelism and real-time programming concepts in our day-to-day programming. For testing our code, we have large suites of automated tests that we maintain, and we often rely on test-driven-development both for feature development and for debugging. The automated tests are an integral part of our engine code base.

What makes this role interesting?

You will gain experience with modern large-scale SW development using C++, and all the modern CI tools. We use Jenkins, GitHub, Incredibuild, Specflow, and several other tools.

You will work closely with our Engine R&D team and learn from very skilled and senior developers. You will also gain experience in using and developing analytics applications in our product Qlik Sense.

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

Extend our test coverage using Specflow or GoogleTest, help us debug failing test cases and/or help us develop new mechanisms to monitor usage of our Qlik Engine.

We’re looking for a teammate with:

  • Passion for backend programming and experience in C++ development
  • Knowledge about databases
(Knowledge about Snowflake would be a bonus, but it is not mandatory)
  • Preferably pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems (3rd Year or 4th University student)
  • Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The location for this role is:

Lund, Sweden
