Role Summary

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will oversee multi-provincial, full-cycle semi-monthly payrolls for multiple entities, ensuring all regulations and guidelines are adhered to. They will be responsible for the administration of various benefit programs, such and Health and Dental benefits and an RRSP plan. The role also requires experience with key aspects of human resources administration as it relates to documents, record keeping and confidentiality. This individual will maintain effective communication with Finance and Human Resources and provide support to all employees throughout the organization.
 
We are looking for a detail oriented, and personable, payroll and benefits professional with a strong knowledge of payroll compliance and legislation. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills to deal with strict deadlines. They will also possess a proven ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
 
Core Responsibilities
  • Semi-monthly, and off-cycle, payroll processing, using Ceridian Dayforce
  • RL 1 Summary with Annual T4 production
  • Processing new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, records of employment
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Processing salary changes and annual bonuses
  • Group Benefits administration
  • RRSP administration and contribution filing
  • Coordinating with the Corporate Accounting team to calculate, file and remit premiums for multi-provincial Workers Compensation and Employer Health Tax accounts
  • Fulfilling quarterly information requests from our parent company

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle payroll experience
  • The ideal candidate has experience with multi-provincial payrolls, including Quebec
  • Experience processing new hires and terminations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills
  • Strong aptitude for computer systems and software
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience considered an asset
  • Bilingual (English-French) considered an asset
  • Certified Payroll Designation (PCP) or in progress considered an asset
