The Buildings & Grounds Supervisor is responsible for overseeing facility operations and maintenance at the Tinley Park Paper Plant. This role ensures efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness by managing building systems, infrastructure, and grounds. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety, and compliance by managing building systems, infrastructure, and grounds. The Supervisor will also recommend improvements, coordinate maintenance activities, and maintain accurate schedules and records. Additionally, they will maintain accurate schedules and records while supporting the site building supervisor in Mokena.

What You’ll do:
  • Oversee facility maintenance and ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and conduct necessary repairs.
  • Manage exterior upkeep, including landscaping, patios, parking lots, and roofing.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, and fire systems.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance schedules and regulatory inspections.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend equipment replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations for fire suppression, elevators, security, and boiler systems, maintaining proper records and scheduling inspections.
  • Perform machine and equipment repairs, including mills, lathes, and presses.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies.
  • Support the Mokena site building supervisor by covering absences, assisting with projects, and providing additional support as needed.

What You’ll Need:
  • High school diploma plus trade school certification or an associate degree in facility systems.
  • Five years of experience in building service management or supervision.
  • Expertise in facility operations, maintenance, and equipment management.
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing contractors for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate inspection records and compliance documentation.
  • Knowledge of safe and effective use of building maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for HVAC systems.

Pay Range: The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location, and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
 
$34 - $43 per hour
