The manufacturing engineering supervisor oversees the assessment of current manufacturing processes, implements new procedures for enhanced efficiency, quality, and safety, while minimizing costs. They also manage the review of manufacturing methods for prototype components, suggesting design changes for improved manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. As a key participant in continuous improvement, they prioritize tasks, direct the team's efforts, and supervise and develop staff as necessary.    
   
What You’ll Do:    
  • Utilize Mastercam and/or AutoCad to develop CNC programs, fixtures, and tooling as required
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and development to the assigned team
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel and supervisors to design, test, and recommend tooling, fixtures, and assist devices, aiming to reduce waste, enhance product quality, improve manufacturing efficiency, and lower product costs
  • Establish and document standards and records for tooling and fixtures
  • Develop sustainable manufacturing methods, practices, procedures, and standards to maintain efficiency and process control
  • Coordinate with the Materials Department, external suppliers, and component providers to identify materials that enhance value and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with Engineering to review designs for manufacturability and accuracy before release
  • Work with Quality Assurance to eliminate defect waste, addressing excessive variation, inadequate tools, equipment, processes, insufficient training, and unnecessary handling
  • Actively lead and participate in the Continuous Improvement (CI) process

What You’ll Need:    

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience; 8-10 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on tooling and tool design experience
  • Proficient in machining, fabrication, welding, and metal finishing
  • Knowledgeable in cutting tools, machine tools functions, and applications
  • Familiar with CNC programming, G-code, and Parametric Macros
  • Experienced with AutoCad or Pro-E, Mastercam, and Microsoft Office Tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Solid quantitative and analytical abilities
  • A positive attitude, high energy, a strong sense of urgency, and attention to detail
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and drive projects to completion
